We worked in groups investigating a variety of real and replica artefacts from Ancient Egypt, including wooden pillows, a genuine bead necklace, toys and papyrus. We had to work out what each artefact was, what it was made from and what it might be used for. The children were brilliant and a real credit to the school. After a short lunch break we had a little time to look around the Egypt display in the museum when we were able to view a sarcophagus decorated with hieroglyphics, grave goods, jewellery and a variety of other amazing objects. We then headed back and were grateful for another smooth journey.
