Hedgehogs Call to Antarctica

The Hedgehogs class took part in a special science meeting with the team at Rothera Research Station in Antarctica.

The children looked at photographs of the icy scenery and learned facts about how people live at the South Pole.

A scientist named Jack explained his job to the students. He showed them how he dives into the freezing sea to look at underwater animals and plants. This helped the children understand how scientists collect information in cold places.

The session taught the class about the different animals that live in the snow and water. By seeing how the research station works, the children learned about the daily life of a scientist and the equipment they need to stay safe and warm.
