Dear Parents and Carers,

This week
In Monday’s assembly, we revisited our three school rules: Be Ready, Be Respectful and Be Safe. The Summer term can sometimes be a challenging one for children. School routines change more frequently due to sporting events, educational visits and special activities. The warmer weather can make it harder to concentrate, and with the summer holidays on the horizon there is often plenty of excitement both in and out of school.
We talked about why our three simple rules are so important in helping to make Beaford such a wonderful place to learn. The children enjoyed imagining what school might be like if nobody followed the rules and quickly realised how chaotic that would be!
One of the things that makes me most proud of Beaford is the children's behaviour. Because standards are already so high, we are able to focus on the finer details of how we treat one another. We discussed how respect is often shown through small actions, such as using a friendly tone of voice, listening carefully to others and remembering good manners. These simple habits help build trust, strengthen friendships and create a positive atmosphere throughout the school.
Good behaviour is something that is taught and practised. At Beaford, we regularly discuss different situations with the children and help them understand how their choices affect themselves and others. We are fortunate to have such supportive families who reinforce these messages at home, and together we help the children develop into thoughtful, respectful and responsible young people.
Reminders
Nut-Free School: Please ensure that your children's packed lunches and snacks are nut free. We are a nut-free site and have several children with serious nut allergies. When packing lunches, please check ingredient labels carefully. In particular, please be careful with pesto, as many varieties contain cashews. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe.
Healthy Snacks: We encourage children to bring healthy snacks to school. Please avoid sending chocolate, sweets or crisps as break-time snacks.
Toys and Fidgets: We ask that children do not bring toys or fidget items from home. Although they are often brought in with good intentions, they can quickly become a distraction and can lead to disagreements between children.
If the warm weather returns, please ensure children come to school with sun cream, a sun hat and a water bottle. If you are able to label water bottles, it makes it much easier for us to reunite them with their owners when they are inevitably left around the playground!
Next Week
Reverend Gary will be leading assembly on Monday and will continue sharing Bible stories involving animals and the lessons we can learn from them.
On Tuesday, Owls are off to Rosemoor for their Fantastic Food workshop. This is always an excellent trip and provides the children with a deeper understanding of where food comes from and the importance of healthy eating.
On Thursday, our Nursery children will enjoy their first school trip to the beach. I am sure they will have a wonderful day exploring, learning and making memories together.
Friday is Sports Day. The event will run very similarly to last year. The gate by the car park will open at 1:20pm and we are hoping for a sunny afternoon filled with races, multi-skills activities and plenty of encouragement from family and friends.
The Friends of Beaford will be selling refreshments throughout the afternoon and we look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.
Enjoy your weekend.
