Dear Parents and Carers,
What a term it’s been! The Autumn term is always jam packed but also very rewarding. It’s been lovely to see the new children settle into their classes and the children who are in their second year in each class taking on more responsibility.
Christmas Dinner Day
We’ve had a full Christmas schedule recently, which the children have thoroughly enjoyed. Christmas plays, decorating the classrooms, sending cards, making Christmas tree decorations and, to top it all off, a wonderful Christmas dinner together on Wednesday.
The dinner was beautifully cooked by Donna and was a full roast with all the trimmings. Over 100 dinners were served by Donna and Sean on Wednesday, and I know all the staff, children and parents would like to say a huge thank you to them for their extra efforts on Christmas dinner day. Like all good homemade food, the secret is using quality ingredients such as our locally sourced meat and, most importantly, preparing it with love.
Staffing
Hopefully there will be some new faces joining the team in the new year. Unfortunately, Amy Symons has decided to leave the school to focus on her university degree. Amy is very popular among the children and said her goodbyes to Hedgehog’s and the staff this week. We thank her for her time at Beaford and wish her the best of luck with her studies.
Jo has changed roles slightly and was the successful candidate for our recent SEN cover supervisor role. Congratulations Jo, you’ve been incredible since you’ve joined the school and I look forward to supporting you in the new role.
This means we now have two SEND teaching assistant roles available. It’s always lovely to have members of our community working in the school, so please apply if you are interested in joining the team. If you know someone suited to the role, do pass on the details. Applicants can apply through My New Term and are able to state that they are applying for both roles to maximise their chances of joining the team. Applications can also be copied from previous applications on My New Term.

We also have after school play worker roles available to provide wraparound care for children. Sarah has run the after school wraparound club fantastically over the years but can no longer commit to the role and will be handing over responsibility at half term. I’d like to thank her for providing the children with a fantastic after school experience and parents with a vital service. If you know anyone interested in running our after school club, they can apply through the following link or via My New Term.

Merry Christmas all
All the staff wish you and the children a happy Christmas and hope that you and your families have a peaceful break with lots of positive memories made.
Thank you all for your kind words, cards and gifts. It is lovely that our community takes the time to show their appreciation and continued support for the school. We are a school that aims to sit at the heart of our community, and we look forward to continuing this mission in the new year.
Have a very merry Christmas.
