We have an active association who organise many events over the year. Money raised is an invaluable resource for the school.  New members and initiatives are welcome.

PTA AGM 2021 - Chair’s Report

I’d like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ as always to all parents and carers who have given their time and effort to support the PTA this past Academic year. We couldn’t do it without your help, and it is very much appreciated.

The PTA is here to raise funds for the things that budgets can’t always cover, the things that are about enrichment and fun for the children. One of the strengths of the PTA is that it is quite informal - a small group of people getting together to support the school, and events can only happen if people continue to volunteer their time and ideas.

Although this year has not been “business as normal” due to a second unusual year, with COVID still very much on our minds, we have continued to support the school and have had a brilliant year.

With a further lockdown at the beginning of the year and increasing COVID cases locally and nationally throughout the year, we have not been able to hold any of our usual big events that have historically raised the most funds for the school. These would have been the Summer & Christmas Fair and Halloween Disco.

We did however find other ways of raising funds and both the Christmas & Summer raffles were very well supported both by parents from the school, and also people from the local community. Cupcake & Ice Lolly Fridays have also been very successful. I hope the children enjoyed the PJ Day and Mad March Hair day. They all looked amazing and made such an effort. Thank you for your donations of cakes, school uniform and raffle prizes throughout the year, and above all for supporting the events the PTA have organized.

We raised an amazing £2,022.91 this year, and after expenses were taken out the final total was £1,911.91. Some of this money was used to fund - school trips, Year 6 leavers hoodies, new school Atlases, and a Christmas Party.

For the Academic year 2021-2022 we have so far funded a Meeth leavers trip, Paignton Zoo trip, and a coach to Burton Art Gallery. All in all it’s been a good year.

As we go forward we say goodbye to Kelly Rogers and El Jude who have been Secretary and Treasurer this year. Kelly has held the position of Secretary for a number of years now, and El joined us last year. Thank you both for your  time and effort, it has been invaluable. Ellie Burtt-Jones has stepped forward and been nominated as the new Treasurer.

I too have decided not to put myself forward for the position of Chair this year. I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to support and raise funds for the school, and can see what a great job the PTA do, and the value it brings to the school.  I wish them all the best going forwards.

Therefore there are vacancies for Secretary and Chair on the committee, so please contact the office if you would like to put your name forward for a position.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy year.

Head Teacher Report October 2021

Last academic year PTA funds contributed to these activities and events:

  • Class Atlas sets (KS1 and KS2) - £144
  • Christmas party (lunch) for all children - £125
  • Year 6 Meeth leavers trip - £420
  • Leavers Hoodies – £150

Total of £839

Thank you

The school community thanks the PTA committee and members for their efforts over the year. There have been a range of well organised events and activities both for children and adults. Money raised by the PTA allows additional activities and resources that contribute to children’s learning experiences and the school environment.

Looking forwards

On behalf of the school, I would like to say a huge thank you for all you do to support the children and staff of this school. Your efforts to raise added funding go a long way to ensure that the children are as supported as they can be.  I know I have spoken to a couple of you about the funding for whole class reading books across the school and this will reach every single child. I have certainly enjoyed working with the PTFA and would like to personally say, ‘Thank you’ for being extremely proactive.

Kind regards.

Mat Harts.
