We are advised to inform all parents and carers of our duty to report concerns that a child may have been neglected, harmed or not thriving to the relevant authorities. We may do so, in some circumstances, without your consent and/or without informing you.

Operation Encompass

This is the early reporting to schools when a child has been exposed to domestic abuse.

School Bus

If you are eligible for the school bus you will need to apply for a pass from Devon County Council. The transport team can be contacted on 0845 155 1019 and they will also advise you about what time and where your child will be picked up from and collected.

Parking

When collecting or dropping your children at school please park by the hedge on Green Lane or at the village hall. Please do not park on the main road running through Beaford as this becomes very busy or in the school lay-by. If you drive your child to school you may like to consider sharing lifts with other families who live nearby.

Class Teacher

If your child is new to the school, we will make sure you are introduced to your child’s new teacher. Please ensure any specific needs your child has is shared with the teacher so that their transition to the new class is as smooth as possible. The class teacher will arrange meeting with you after a few weeks to share with you how your child is settling in.

Home Learning

The details of weekly home learning tasks are on the weekly email and on our website. Children in Otters and Owls have a weekly home learning task which they are expected to complete in their home learning book and hand in to their teacher – usually on a Tuesday. Home learning tasks are given for children in Hedgehogs but these are optional.

Sharing Your Child's Learning

Each term we have a sharing assembly where parents and grandparents are welcome to come and celebrate the children’s learning. Each term a curriculum overview is sent home. This contains information about your child’s learning for the term.
